課程概述

The aim of this course is to provide students with an overview of information systems security knowledge so as to protect an organization’s information assets against possible security threats and vulnerabilities. 

課程目標
 On completion of this course the student should have the concept to:

a) develop, document and implement good security management practices;

b) identify and critique the legal and security issues that are critical to professional conduct in information systems;

c) rigorously and comprehensively assess the impacts of proposed security solutions on various stakeholders
 
課程要求
 Assessment: Case & Reading Discussion In this course, students will discuss case studies, global security consulting surveys and various assigned readings. Students are expected to reading the assigned readings and contribute to the discussion in class. Students will be evaluated on the basis of both quantity and quality of the contribution. Threat News Report Students will form a group of 5 to present a five-minute threat news report (see another document for the assignment detail). Project Presentation With the same group, students will prepare a 20-minute presentation addressing one of the following topics: 1. Implementation of IS security management in an organization; or 2. Selecting a IS security incident and critical evaluate the problem; or 3. Selecting a security product, and critically evaluate its value in today’s organisational environment. This presentation will also be peer-reviewed, students will have an opportunity to evaluate the quality of other groups on the basis of pre-defined criteria.
